The Easy Tie Eye
A big, open eyelet molded right into the jig head. Where you set the knot decides whether the jig hangs horizontal or vertical.

How the Easy Tie Eye works
We're a small, family-run business, and the whole point of this jig was to make tying faster, easier, and more reliable, even in tough conditions. Most small jigs have a pinhole eye that's easy to find painted shut. The Easy Tie Eye is a big, open eyelet molded right into the head, so there's no paint to clear and no fumbling with cold fingers. Because the eye is long and open, your knot can sit in more than one spot, and that spot sets how the jig hangs.
How to tie a jig to hang horizontal (or vertical)
- 1Pass your line through the oversized eye. No clearing paint.
- 2Tie your knot, or a loop knot for extra action.
- 3Knot at the top of the eye = hangs level (horizontal). Knot at the nose = hangs vertical.
To switch, slide the knot to the other spot. You don't cut the line and you don't retie.

Knot at the top of the eye. The jig hangs level.

Knot at the nose. The jig hangs straight up and down.
Horizontal vs vertical jig: when to use each
Horizontal (knot at the top of the eye)
Hangs level, a natural baitfish presentation for suspended fish.
Vertical (knot at the nose)
Hangs straight up and down, made for vertical jigging and working right below the hole.
Not sure which?
Start with one. If it isn't doing it for you, slide the knot and try the other. It's the same jig and the same bait, and switching takes a few seconds.
These jigs work through the ice or from the boat, dock, or shore.

What is the Easy Tie Eye?
The Easy Tie Eye is the big, open eyelet molded right into the head of a Macula jig. Your line goes straight through with no paint to clear, and where you set the knot decides how the jig hangs: horizontal or vertical.
How do I tie a jig to hang horizontal?
Pass your line through the oversized eye, tie your knot, and set the knot at the top of the eye. Knot at the top of the eye = the jig hangs level (horizontal).
How do I make the jig hang vertical?
Same eye, same knot. Set the knot at the nose instead. Knot at the nose = the jig hangs vertical, straight up and down.
Do I have to retie to switch from horizontal to vertical?
